Xinghua Xiao: Art on Bronze Ritual Vessels & Qin Han Bricks and Tiles

Professor Xiao Xinghua is a retired professor of astrophysics from Beijing Normal University. He is also the Associate Dean of Imperial University of Peking Oracle Bone Calligraphy Research Institute. Inspired by the character and calligraphy transformations on Zhou dynasty bronze ritual vessels and the intricate pictographs on bricks and tiles from the Qin and Han dynasties, Professor Xiao created these artworks to preserve those historical documents. Professor Xiao currently lives in Bellevue, Washington. His artwork will be exhibited on site at the University of Washington Tateuchi East Asia Library from February to June 2022. This exhibit is the online presentation of the art pieces.

蕭興華教授曾任北京師範大學天體物理學教授，並且是京師大學堂甲骨文書法研究院副院長。從周朝青銅器文字和書法及秦磚漢瓦上的圖像中得到靈感，肖教授把珍貴的歷史文字通過形象的藝術表現出來。蕭教授現居住於西雅圖，他的作品將會在華大館內東亞圖書館現場展出，展出時間為2022年2月至6月。此為同一展覽的線上呈現。
